Electricity is usually transmitted over long distance through overhead power transmission lines. Underground power transmission is used only in densely populated areas due to its high cost of installation and maintenance, and because the high reactive power gain produces large charging currents and difficulties in voltage management. A power transmission system is sometimes referred to colloquially as a 'grid'; however, for reasons of economy, the network is rarely a true grid. Redundant paths and lines are provided so that power can be routed from any power plant to any load centre, through a variety of routes, based on the economics of the transmission path and the cost of power. Much analysis is done by transmission companies to determine the maximum reliable capacity of each line, which, due to system stability considerations, may be less than the physical or thermal limit of the line. Deregulation of electricity companies in many countries has led to renewed interest in reliable economic design of transmission networks.

Full of techniques, tips and ticks.

I've been messing about (literally) with home butchery for a while and enjoy boning poultry etc. This book is now helping me advance my skills with a bunch of useful techniques, hints and tricks. I think it's also useful for a butchery novice as it covers all the basics, plus has some really cool recipes for cuts as well as sausage.

I particularly found the chapters on sausage making useful as there are many techniques that are not obvious or intuitive and this book is full of helpful hints to perfect my home sausages eg putting your meat grinder parts in the freezer before you start. Unlike other cookbooks it explains why you're doing something before you actually begin preparing and cooking.

I also enjoyed the style of writing. It's a nice mix of factual, practical and 'human' writing. It doesn't feel like a technical text but it also doesn't patronize the reader by oversimplifying. I love all the small hints and tips on every page. I'd recommend it to both butchery beginners and those who feel pretty confident already but want to advance their skills.

Terrific book for those who want professional meaty tutoring in lamen's terms!

I was so excited to read this book. While this book is easy to follow - similar to that of other Dummies books, the author presents the meaty material in such a way that you not only feel like you are getting an education on how to cut meat, but you also are left feeling enlightened.

I am a novice, self-taught cook who attempts most of her culinary endeavors on weekends. I per-ordered this book and was excited to begin reading it immediately. I like that it's set up so that I can skip around easily - however I read the book cover to cover initially. This book will become a permanent fixture in my kitchen as a great reference.

While I feel I have a pretty good handle on interpreting recipes and techniques in written form, I'm often lost during the holidays when it comes to selecting meat and poultry for all of those "new" recipes I want to try. What burns me the most is when I find a great recipe, but can't locate the exact cut of meat the recipe calls for. The author does a great job of equipping you to make informed decisions about substitutes.

Finally, I love all of the detail on how to cut and prepare the meat. Bottom line, this book has totally inspired me! It's jam packed with so much information. I think anyone looking for a book that demystifies meat will thoroughly enjoy this book. I'm going to give it as gifts to my nieces who are getting ready to move out on their own. I wish I had read this book BEFORE I ever prepared my first Turkey or cooked my first Roast, Steak, etc. I wish I knew then, what I know now!

Read the book it is pretty good, goes through how to cut up meat and how to make sausage and other things I have tried some of the recipes in it they came out good I really liked the bologna. I would recommend this to someone interested in processing their own meat.

Edwards, a reporter who has worked in some 100 countries, here traces the achievements of women journalists who have covered world news: Margaret Fuller's New York Herald dispatches in 1848 from revolutionary Rome; Louise Bryant in Moscow during World War I; Dorothy Thompson and Anne O'Hare McCormick in Europe in the 1920s; photographer Margaret Bourke-White's daring exploits in World War II; "Maggie" Higgins in Korea and others. Military rules and the rigid attitudes of male officers were especially galling to media women during the 1944 liberation of Europe, Edwards notes, but through ingenuity (and actually helped at times by being ousted from a combat zone to a wire-equipped base area) they were able to claim newsbeats during such operations as the D-day landings, the Rhine crossings and the linkup of U.S. and Soviet troops on the Elbe River. The book handily combines exciting adventure stories with a feminist statement.

The text also chronicles the historical development of the theory's methods and explores the connections with other problems in number theory. The problem of approximating algebraic numbers is also studied as a case in the theory of transcendental numbers.
Topics include the Thue-Siegel theorem, the Hermite-Lindemann theorem on the transcendency of the exponential function, and the work of C. Siegel on the transcendency of the Bessel functions and of the solutions of other differential equations. The final chapter considers the Gelfond-Schneider theorem on the transcendency of alpha to the power beta. Each proof is prefaced by a brief discussion of its scheme, which provides a helpful guide to understanding the proof's progression.

A Transformational Work

I first read BHG about 8 months ago. At the time, I was going through a very dry period spiritually, and upon first completing the book, it was honestly a discouragement. I knew where I was, and knew where I wanted to be, but had no idea how to get there. In the time since, the Lord has done a supernatural work in my life that has taken me from a dry, weak, shell of a Christian to a bold and daring minister of truth. The Bravehearted Gospel was a major catalyst to this transformation, and I have kept it nearby the entire time, and have read it cover to cover at least three times since then. This book is a call to action that leaves the reader with a choice. There is no middle ground, either the reader must follow the bravehearted path, or they must reject it outright. Thank God for men like Eric who stand on the truth of Scripture, and lean not on their own understanding.

Worthwhile Message but Poorly Told

Without a doubt this is a message that the modern church needs to hear, but the book is so full of repetition (including passages copied verbatim) that it could easily have been written in less than 100 pages.
It is obvious that Mr Ludy likes hearing himself speak. Won't be reading any of his other books if this is a true example of his works

A Review of Snowed in with the Bad Boy by Sylvia Pierce

Sylvia has done it again! This may be a short book, but boy is it packed with a punch! We meet Ronan, who is a retired black ops agent, living in the middle of nowhere in Colorado. He's in the middle of a fantasy of what he would ask Santa for if he still believed in Christmas, when there's a knock on his door.

Georgie is dressed up as an elf, on her way to surprise her family for Christmas Eve when a blizzard causes her to lose control of her car and she ends up in a snowbank at the end of a driveway. She treks up to the cabin and is instantly fascinated with the man that opens the door. When she asks to use his phone, he gives her a rude answer instead of simply telling her the phone lines are down.

I don't want to give away too much about what happens, but you will definitely want to pick this one up and read it! There are no cliffhangers, but I certainly hope that we get to see more of these two in the near future!

This was a beautiful story, well written, sexy and interesting my only wish is that it was longer. I felt the story ended too soon there was more potential there for what happens after Christmas! So I feel a bit of angst that the couple got together out of sheer accident, over the course of 2 days and there is no end game to the story. Readers love happy endings or endings that go somewhere. It just dropped off.... Okay we live across the U.S. From each other but we will be together ...thanks for reading... Goodbye ...okay angst over... It is still a interesting book just has potential to be a phenomenal book!

HOLY BAD BOY HOTNESS with HEART! This is exactly the kind of book I love to read during the holidays. Not only did it have a sexy bad boy, a cozy snowed-in cabin, and SMOKING HOT SEXY SCENES, this story was also chock full of clever, laugh out loud banter and a unexpectedly sweet romance in the middle of it all. Ronan and Georgie--each with their own hidden wounds--charmed me. I fell hard for this good girl with a naughty streak and this bad boy with a heart of gold and I can't wait for more from Sylvia. She's on my watch list!
